To make your great cup of pour-over coffee, put a pot of fresh water on and bring it to almost boiling (but not boiling yet) or to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. While the water is heating up, measure out your coffee grounds. We recommend 22 grams coarse ground coffee mixed with 400 grams of water. You can, of course, adjust the proportions to your own taste.
Once the water is heated, pour the water over the coffee grounds until it bubbles up. Allow the water and grounds to bloom for about 30 seconds before stirring gently. It’s obvious you will need a coffee scale to do this right, so check our accessory page for some great scales if you don't own one. After it bubbles up for 30 seconds, pour the rest of the water in a circular motion until you reach the total of 400 grams or adjusted to your taste.
Make sure you use your favorite add-ins if that's what you prefer. Then sit back and enjoy with a good book. Our favorite is to have a good home-made biscotti on the side.
You will need a pour over coffee maker and a coffee scale to do this right, so check our must-have accessory page for some great highly rated items we have available.
